Thought I'd post up some pics of my mum's friends Zonda S - one of the best automotive experiences I've ever had, hands me the keys and says "your insured third party aren't you". Kid you not! Just a Sony Cybershot V1 used to capture the moment!

And seeing it next to that 106 really gives a sense of scale.

Wow !

What a conservative Zonda, unlike the more lurid examples it really emphasises the lines

I'm still having mine (yeah, right) in eye searing Orange

So you think you feel bad coz he's driven it and you havn't?

I pulled up in my Noble at the local Pagani dealer (hasn't everyone got one?) and said "I'm interested"...Guy said "You wanna drive it?", so I said, trying to keep the shake out of my voice, "OK" (sounded like a squeak to me ). After 25 minutes of trying to start it, including jump leads and starter pack, the f***ing thing refused to start so I had to go home frustrated. I got maybe 200 yards away before screaming at the top of my voice "F**K!"."

Maybe now you don't feel so bad.

Martin.

PS - it was a black Roadster!

Gutted for you V6GTO, the owner was telling me it was one of the main reasons he went for the Zonda - the Mercedes reliability!

Fantastic photo's.

And one of the simplest and best parts about the Zonda is that Pagani (a very small manufacturer) will make them in right hand drive just like that one, unlike Ferrari's Enzo, Mercedes's SLR and Porsche's Carerra GT.

Funnily enough I was considering something this morning... I've driven a sequence of increasingly expensive cars belonging to a mate, culminating in a Murcielago a while back.

Have to say for the vast majority of the time I didn't even remotely enjoy it. I think it was the knowledge that I'd have to sell my house to pay for any damage, however unlikely it was that I'd do any.

To be honest it wasn't as intimidating as I though it would be. Very heavy clutch and slippy shoes were my only worry, I really didn't want my foot to slip off and catapult £380k into the back of a Nova or anything. It hinges from the floor and a with a bit of adjustment of the position of my legs it wasn't as much of a problem.

As for underwear the ASR button remained switched on at all times!!

edit: to say wasn't as intimidating oops

You are kidding. The worse case scenario of crashing the car of a friend with vastly more financial resources than you do is losing that friend not losing your money. They knew the risks.
