Hi there,

Went along to the Historic Motorsport show today at Stoneleigh park. This show is similar to Autosport International but is more focused on historic cars.

Every year they have a live action rally stage where loads of different classic rally cars are demonstrated to the watching public. This is a superb opportunity to watch the famous Group B cars put through their paces.

A bit tricky taking pictures today due to the emmense cold, lack of sunlight and the fact that there was a large crowd which left you little room to move.

Anyway here are some of my pics: -

Hope you like them and any C&C will be more than welcome.

Regards

Very well taken. Especially as we were there too and saw the lack of space for taking pictures. I'm just dumping the 100's of pictures from today onto the PC so I can have a look.

Hi there,

Just managed to work through a few more of my pictures.

Also managed to get a good shot of the course car, recently launched facelifted Porsche Cayenne Turbo. This sounded superb when the driver pushed it.

We were sat in the grandstand. Bad move as we found out....but only when it was too late to move anywhere else. Think I must have your head in most of my shots ! lol

I'll sort through the 400+ I took yesterday and post some later.....once I've been to collect my new car !

Had a quick look through last night and was happy with a few.

some fantastic pictures there - most of which have been saved as

What camera and lense did you use for those pictures?

Oh and btw - well done for still being able to work the buttons on your camera in the freezing cold weather B)

Hi there,

Many thanks for your reply.

The camera I use is an Olympus E-500 with the 40-150mm lense.

I bought it about a year ago for approx £425.00 and it has so far been superb. Its a bit out of the norm as most people shoot motorsport with either a Canon or a Nikon. I really like the Olympus, the only downside is the fact that you struggle to get different lenses at a resonable price as not many of the lense makers (Sigma, Tamron etc) offer lenses to fit the Olympus range.
