Hi is there any wedding photographers here that can give me an idea of what it costs?

I am a photographer in the north if england so not too sure on the prices down there but your looking at 500 to 1500 quid for a decent job up here depends on who you hire. Have a good look through there portfolio first and check that they are the type of photographs you want.

I used to about 15 years ago (Sussex). Charged between £300 and £600 - top package was for a pro wedding album and selection of 70 to 100 8x6 prints (number depending on venue and photographic possibilities) and a set of all the proofs in 6x4 (supplied in second proof album) plus 3 framed 10x8 compositions. Mostly shot in medium format (6x4.5cm or 6x7cm) and some 35mm.

This fee was for an entire days shoot (with Bride and Maids getting ready etc) and with Groom and Bestman arriving etc (often needed 2 photographers when Church was not near Brides location).

These days that price would be around £800 and shot in high quality digital format.

I work in north Essex. We charge between £1250 and £2000 with our most popular package being £1500. The prices cover everything including two photographers for a full day, preview book, preview DVD, completed wedding album (which comes in a briefcase) and on line hosting of images and optional pre wedding studio photos.

Coverage starts with visiting the bride's home and typically finishes when the pary sits down for the wedding breakfast. Coverage is always the same and we don't limit the number of photos we take, the difference in costs depends on how the couple wish to display and present their favourite photographs.
