I've got an SD card that was functioning fine in my son's Fuji and all of a sudden the camera displayed an error message. I've got a feeling that the card wasn't formatted prior to being used in the camera.

When I plug the card into my PC it prompts me to format it. I have downloaded Recuva but this is unable to read the card as it states a message saying it can't detect the file system.

I then downloaded a trial version of Adroit which has successfully found the 320 images and displayed them......with a massive watermark over them. It will allow me to retrieve them if I pay the $59.99!!! eek

I'd really like to get the images back as it was a special day out with my 8 year old son who is just getting used to using his camera and was gutted that all his cool images have been lost. I'd really rather not cough up a massive amount of money though.

Any suggestions for (free/cheaper) software that may be able to retrieve them?

Best to write-protect the SD card before you try anything.
Massive thanks to you mate!!!! This did the trick and I now have the pictures safely off the card!

I used the ZAR software they suggested and it worked a treat!

I owe you a virtual pint! beer

SGirl....what happens when you plug the SD card into the PC? Does it acknowledge the card exists at all?

My PC would only suggest I format my card but the ZAR software found it no problem.

Cheers LongQ for the Sandisk tip. That was going to be my next move, buying a new card in the hope of accessing the software.
