Recommend me a Camera

Hi Gents,

This is my first visit to this forum and I would be very grateful for a bit of advice. My other half has taken quite an interest in photography and has taken some lovely pics using nothing more than her coolpix mini camera and an iPhone.

She would like to get something a little more pro. We have had a look online but don't really know what we're looking for? Budget is around £300 but could spend a tad more if needed.
