Dobbo, no I didn't have any special access, the close up of Montoya was in the pit lane during the public pit walk. Schumacher was at the gate to the paddock and all the car shots were from normal grandstand seats.

It's just a Canon 300D with a 75-300 IS USM. The lens is a bit too slow in AF mode for F1 so you have to focus manually. On the plus size it's quite a cheap lens. Most of the action shots are 1/80 sec.

Taking photos in Monaco is much easier than other circuits as you're so much closer to the cars. You also see a lot more of the drivers and teams. I think Kimi Raikkonen was the only driver I didn't see wandering around this year.
