Got to the bottom of this. Not all S3C 2.9 litre engines have hydraulic lifters and in fact they appear to be the exception rather than the rule.

Documented this as an addendum on the Book Update section on the website with the VIN numbers and so on. I have also added the corrected speed and tyre tables so that older books can be updated.

Steve

I couldn't work out how to contact you so thought I'd reply to one of your postings!

My Tuscan is going in to be 'assessed for Racelogic Traction control on Monday with a firm in Luton. Racelogic were unable to tell me of anyone else who had TC fitted to a TVR but I had seen your comments previously.

They have told me that the fitting would be about £300 for the std unit and then another £400 for the wheel speed sensors!(the cost of which was another £250 and £80 for some trigger rings). It seemed a bit excessive as I was then looking at £1700+vat without any data logging stuff (but including launch control).

Did you have yours done by anyone that you could recommend?

Thanks

This thread cropped up recently and I think JooSpeed may have had it done to a Cerb at some point.

Racelogics MD has a profile on here too now, which may be useful (see above thread)

Tower View and myself fitted all the wheel sensors. Involved welding bits onto hub carriers to mount the sensors and use the wheel bolts as the trigger.

Racelogic and myself did the rest of the installation. I already had worked out where to fit it and provided power and other cables. It is still a serious amount of work as it has to be done carefully, especially with a car as nice as a Tuscan. If you are paying someone then the costs will mount up because of the labour.

Still worth it and a lot more useful than a set of new wheels.
