A quick pic of one of the new wheels biggrin

The body is high as the car hasn't been moved since it was jacked up to fit the wheels, and it is high anyway as the engine and gearbox are not fitted.

I've also been doing some engine work, pics to follow.

KeTVRin emailed me to ask how the rebuild is going.

After losing my job in Feb this year funds have been a bit limited, I've been doing this though

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Forgive me I posted it on the Chim forum as there's a lot of V8 knowledge on there.
It's actually moved on a touch now as I've made copper mountings for al 3 ribs.

After getting no work at all for a bit I setup my own company, then I picked up a 3 month contract for my old employer rage which has been a really tough project, but bar a bit of work this weekend that's now finished.

I've picked up a couple of other clients along the way and all being well I've got some work coming up in the next couple of weeks that will take me up till Christmas. smile

If this happens as I hope then I'll have some TVR project funds hippy

Well I have just spent rather a lot on engine parts which will arrive next week.
My ownership of the V8S still isn't clear moving forward, but whether it stays or whether it goes it needs to be finished, so the rebuild will continue, and if I have to sell I will have to do rather a lot of testing beforehand biggrin

Hopefully more rebuild info to follow next week, you never know I might even make S Club!

Chris

Edited to add I'm now going the electric pump route for the power steering, the engine driven pump is a nightmare as there's a million different combinations of pulleys, and the original pump location is low down on the passenger side of the engine right where the exhaust is on the V8S, so that opton is a non starter.

Ken if you want your pump back that you sent me I'll bring it to S Club assuming both you and I are going.

I picked up an electric pump (Citroen Saxo as in Later TVR's) for £20 biggrin

Ken it will only clutter up my garage so if its OK with you I'll stick it on ebay and whatever it makes less ebay fees I'll give to the S Club Charity this year.

Chris very much hope to see you in your car at S club but you're most welcome to borrow one so you have no excuse whatsoever!

Also, who else will manage to get the film out of my mp4!

Or laugh at the bits of polish on my car (maybe Longers will do that tbh).

You're coming, that's final smile

No exciting pics but over the last few days I have:

Fitted the fuel filler hoses in the boot, what a pig having already fitted the tank in the end I removed the filler cap assembly then it wssn't too difficult apart from the contortions required to get at the filler cap fixing nuts in the boot.

Fitted the fuel pump (under the boot in V8S, another censored of a job).
Fitted the fuel hoses from tank to pump, from pump to filter and the return to the tank connected.

Changed the rear hub nuts for new ones after I had the hubs off for the refurb last year.

Fitted the battery power cable into the boot and fitted the earth cable between battery location and chassis.

I also bit the bullet and took the engine for some professional attention, I'll report more info on that as I have it.

Next job is to fit the heat shielding in the engine bay and generally sort out the engine bay ready to fit the engine when it returns.
