V8S Rebuild begins!
Discussion
Brilliant Chris, I have been watching your rebuild/restoration/remanufacture since before I even bought my car and you have been an inspiration (I'm sure to others aswell). Your dedication to getting things done properly and in a lot of cases better than before has made me realise what is possible, especially with the help of others on this site.
I hope you enjoy driving the car now and please do post the rebuild details of your next challenge!!!!
P.S If any of this post appears to be misspelt forgive me as I am away on holiday in Hungary and their keyboards are different and their beer is less than a pound a litre.

Chuffed for you Chris and what a brilliant job.
Doe's the power steering feel good?
The power steering is pretty good yes - its not modern car light - in fact during normal driving its not that light at all but still has good steering feel - but parking and low speed is amazing.Doe's the power steering feel good?
The suspension geometry still needs setting up, so I think it will improve more yet.
Yes I've been managed an hour last night
Sorry bit late replying to this news, but.... about bloomin' time! Perhaps we can now draw a line under what must be one of the longest running topics in the history of this forum?!
Seriously mate, a superb effort, well done. You've given so much to others here for a very long time now without a car of your own to get out in. Long cold dark nights, job & health problems etc are all behind you now. You thoroughly deserve every moment of pleasure you'll get from the car
If you ever want to stretch it's legs you know where I am
Cheers,
Longers

OK well I'll dig this back up just one last time.
As you know I converted the car to power steering, but wasn't entirely happy with the conversion it never felt quite right, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Anyway I bought a brand new power steering pump this week - electric peugeot type like I already have - as I wasn't convinced the one I had was working properly as it was a bit noisy, I got it off fleabag for £175.
What a revelation, the old pump must have been fubarred.
Its just incredible now, like a modern car in fact.
Mrs Barkychoc drove it today and thought it was amazing, enough said!
