What's in your boot
Discussion
Other than the roof, rolled towel to protect the roof when folded, wheel, and jack, what tools and supplies do you carry in the car just in case.
As I am new to the TVR, not sure how much is required on the average trip.
I was thinking of carrying things like;
5L fuel can to cope with a unrelaible guage
Water bottle
Fuses and bulbs
Some tools (spanners, screwdrivers, zip ties, duck tape, good wheel wrench, electrical chock block)
Torch
Warning triangle
How much of this is required, and what other essentials do people carry with them.

Depends on what's going to go wrong...Smokey Boyer said:

At the moment, 5 litres of oil...
Otherwise - loads of beer and an RAC membership card

Sorry - that's not much help is it?

The list of parts is quite short...
I looked around on ebay until I found a filler neck and cap that looked suitable, came from a Morris 1000 Traveller I think. This was a lot thinner than the S neck so a piece from the S one was welded to it so it would match the tank neck. A collar was made and welded near the top, this attaches with six M5 screws to the top corner plate, made up from a piece of alluminium sheet. This is attached and sealed to the body work with a couple of small screws and lots of Sikaflex. Maybe it should have a tiny drain pipe, at the moment I fill carefully and wipe up any "dribbles".
Biggest job is filling in the hole in the wing.
Once I get into one of my little projects I'm not very good at taking photo's along the way or drawings and measurements, more a case of try this, cut a bit off, try again, too much, start again!
If you're going to have a go keep it tucked as tight into the corner as you can or you won't get the spare wheel back in. I ended up making a bracket that moves the mounting bolt over about inch and a half, still leaves plenty of room for roof panels.
Final job was to tidy it up with a bit of carpet (cheap thin stuff like used on exhibition stands matches the original boot carpet quite well) wrapped around it and held with some Velcro.
