V8S wheels (offset)

Gents and ladies,

I have been searching the archives and Im a little confused.

It appears that if I was to fit after market wheels, I should be fitting about ET15 offset, my original OZ wheels have ET25 stamped on them.

Whicn offset should I be looking for ? I have seen some wheels which are 7 x 17 with a ET18 , would these be OK ?

I have 7 x 17 ET15 Peugeot offset fitted.

ET15 looks about right to me. They fill the arches nicely but don't stick out.

I know that Ford offset (ET35 ish) aren't any good on the S without enormous spacers and extended studs etc.

Remember the V8S and S4 have rear discs brakes

So the OZ 8 spokes must come in 2 different offsets for either V6 or V8 fitment.

I dont think so

But i've just fitted 16" 5 spoke chim wheels to my car now these are 7.5 x 16" with an offset of ET33,and fit ok.I also have a set of Griff 500 wheels which are 7.5 x 16" with an offset of ET35.

The discs probably account for 10mm of the offset and the wheels being 1/2" wider will account for account for another 6mm.

So if you increase wheel width from 7" to 7.5" the offset will can be nearer ET30 to 35.If you stay with a wheel width of 7" the offset can be less

P.S i looked at the offset on the OZ 8 spoke and cant see the stamp

Despite what has been said above, I'd put money on ET10 to ET20 being the acceptable offset for any S. As far as I can see the same wheels were fitted to both V6 and V8 models and hence must have the same suspension and axle geometry (hub to hub dimension across the axle) even though one had drums and the other discs.

Chim wheels do so suit the S, IMH and unbiased O .
Out of interest how much did the 16" set you back and what have you shoud them with :comnfused:. I've been thinking of this a few times myself but people seem to want silly money for them .

Harry I got a set of Chim wheels and tyres( 2x16" 2x15") for £310 plus post,they are currently shod with 225/50 but once ive worn them down i'll re shoe them with 225/45.But i've just got these Griff 500 for £130 no dents of chips but im going to get them repainted

THey look very nice, unusual on an S too? But like Harry I too prefer the Chim wheels on an S best, unbiased of course...



Mine are 16's rear with 225's and 15's front with 205's

Are they the same as mine Mike but mine are all 15"

Yep,standard fitment on the S was 15" all round. Mike bought a set of a Chim where standard fitment was 16" rear and 15" front

I wouldnt mind 16's all around as I think they look better, but these will do............for now!

Got my tyres fitted to the wheels today (I have been waiting a while for delivery of tyres) happy with the apperance.

Any idea what PSI I should have ?
