Any ideas where the rubber inner gaiter comes from as mine is split and will get my lovely new leather 'outer' all dirty!!

I used to know what it is off, but I've forgotten. Vaguely remember seeing a part number and 'front' (at the back ) embossed on mine, if you take the old one off I suspect it will have sufficient identifying marks to enable you to match it.

Just made mine, bought leather off ebay and took the old one apart as a template... in fact I'm re-upholstering the whole interior inc. carpets, leather, and hood...

It's from a Ford of some description (there was a Ford logo on the one I bought from a TVR dealer). The same gaitor is used on the 350i, so it must be an 80s Ford.

Paul.

PS It's got 'front' on it because I think it is used by Ford on more than one vehicle. IIRC it also says 'diesel' at one end.

Thanks Guys - I still haven't got one yet so any help most appreciated!! The Ford dealer doesn't hold this sort of thing in stock so I can't do a quick on the spot comparison to get the right one. Part number would be fantastic!

I bet Adrian Venn at 'Exactly TVR' would know.

Old thread I know, but anyone know where I can get one of these from? Just fitted my nice new Gear-stick Gaiter and noticed the rubber cover below is ripped to shreds.

Try Quickco in Borehamwood. If the part number given above doesn't apply anymore they should be able to look the item historically or by description. Always been helpful when I've used them.

They can get the part. Need to go in and order it though as unfortunately they don't take CC orders.

(forgot to ask how much though - but need one anyway)

Moggy 2 check out this link for the leather outer - they also do the hadnbrake gaiter and if you send them a small cutting from under your seat or somewhere they will match to your existing interior.

I bought a set of these including the handbrake gaiter a few weeks ago. Fits perfectly, colour match to cream Ok - not perfect but different leather to transmission tunnel - so looks fine.

Cheers

Sierra-Gear lever Rubber Gaiter

Hi,

Can anyone who has purchased a new rubber gaiter p/n 6112048 confirm if it looks like this:

I purchased from fordpartsuk and it arrived today as shown above. However this isn't what is currently fitted to my S, that one is more rectangular and doesn't have the centre raised portion. I'm trying to determine if a different part is fitted to my S or if fordpartsuk have got it wrong.

Thanks!
