Removing the dash main wood panel

When I have sorted my mechanical teething problems with my new car the next job I want to do is renew all the wood panels. I see on the tvrsseries site good articles on removing the door trims and the lower switch panel but cannot find anything regarding the main dash. Please advise on how to do this job or if there is an article point me in the right direction

Monkeylegend if you are only removing the speedo it can be done by reaching up behind the dash. It is held on by 2 nuts and washers, these hold on the U shaped bracket, remove the 2 lights, these just pull out, the speedo then pulls out over the steering console. Be aware though that the glass is very fragile and does break easily.

Steve, thanks for the info. Assume you need to remove the steering column shroud to get access behind dash? Sound pretty straight forward. Need to get sticking speedo digits repaired, a common fault I gather from other threads on here. Can anyone recommend where to send for repair?
Broke a 2ft x 4ft coffee table glass the other day, forgot it was stored in the garage so my track record for keeping glass intact is not good. I must be careful!!!! Still at least it missed the Tiv when it fell, that would have been even worse.
Monkeylegend, my tiv is an S2, now I didnt need to remove the steering console, I assume the position for the speedo is the same. My needle was stuck and I repaired it myself by stripping it down, NOT an easy job!! I sprayed a tad of WD40 and bingo it sprang back to life. Hope you get yours working again, guessing your speed is no good with so many cameras around.

Steve, speedo still working,odometer stuck on the 9's so might need more than a quick spray unfortunately. And this is a replacement speedo as well due to same problem with the original.
Anyway a nice little job for those dark nights during January.
im currently fabricating a stainless steel, colour co-ordinated dash as an enginering project. It will fit over the original so is easy fitting. If it works to spec and fits flush i will post some pics and may make duplicates. Its being painted in starfire mica blue and cream with some stenciling. Doing the project because my veneer look poor and i cant be arsed with removing the original.

John, speak to some of the guys such as page3, gabitas, tubbystu, doddze, jons3 all who have fitted Stainless Steel Overlays which I produced. They wall fitted over the original flush to the dash. I did both the dash and the switch panel a while ago. I believe that there were quite a few pis of them posted when I produced my first batch. They came out quite nice and I have subsequently done a SS onbe for a the pre cat Griff.
