I have been having a play trying to line up the bonnet on my S2(1.5) and whilst doing that thought I would have a nosy around the chassis and try to work out how to get the oil filter out etc etc, whilst doing this I have noticed that the exhaust manifolds on the drivers side are resting on the chassis on further inspection it appears that the engine mounting on the drivers side has completely collapsed dropping the engine on that side (mainly ) by about 1".Are these mountings a TVR part or are they std Granada????,any help would be appreciated, maybe there are better ones available from another model ??

I purchased new mountings from TVR Car Parts, cost approx. 20 pounds each I think? Tel. 01884 266755 always helpful.
Not sure if the mounts supplied by Car Builder Solutions would fit, they are only 6 pounds each. would need to measure them?
I fitted mine when the engine was out, so it was relatively straight forward. You will need to raise the engine to get the old mounts out and new ones in, engine crane or hoist would be best, will be difficult to get at them with the exhaust manifolds on I think.
As I said, above I had the engine out and no body on the chassis when I replaced mine, makes things alot easier, I don't suggest going to this extreme though just to replace them mounts!!

Engine mount should definately be OK to do with the engine inplace.Just need to lift it off the existing offending mount and think maybe unbolt the bell housing if it won't clear the front bulkhead.Loosen off other mount also.
Manifolds are in the way but can be worked around and useful for lifting the block.
Try calling Car Builder Solutions with the measurements.

In a previous thread someone said that the mounts off a Transit fit and someone else mentioned Capri engine mounts.
Now the Transit mount seems to be QH part number EM670 which is also a non PAS Capri 3.0 mount. The 2.8 Capri has a part number of EM672 which also fits the 3.0 Capri with PAS.

The question is has anyone used any of the above part numbers on their S?

Edit: Now the alcohol is kicking in my brain is working.... Google showed up this site www.southwalesprops.co.uk/propshaft/vehicles/ford/ford_capri_mk2.htm and it looks like my car has the QH EM670 mounts.
