Having got a bit fed up of the old boring plastic handbrake handle...

... I decided to treat myself / the car to a nice new shiny Leven one!

So I picked up the said hello, have you got a shaped polished handbrake handle in? (an HBH 4P - to match the steering wheel spokes)... yes they said... so I popped along after work to go and fetch the item!

Popped in... and was offered a choice of "seconds" at a discounted price... er..? Seconds? Couldn't find ANYTHING wrong with what I was offered, so paid my money and headed off to fit it!

Got home, pulled off the old one (it didn't need much in the way of encouragement!) and literally 5 minutes later had the new one on!

The item is pretty solid, well build and far better to use... the button on the old one was a bit tricky at times... but no problems... as smooth as the proverbial infants arse. Dead chuffed!

Anyway.. very pleased with my purchase, and the people at Leven are fantastic and very helpful and from what I've seen I'll be spending more of my hard earned cash with them in the future.

Podie is happy.. and off for a blast in the spring sun!

That looks really nice, as does the whole cockpit, can we have some pics of the whole car now.

Somewhat jealous of your spring sunshine cruise, I will have to make do with a pizza and a spot of telly.

Got a few more things to do... but I'll get some pics at the end of the month once I've had the wheels and rear screen done..

I waited FAR too long to get mine... but don't worry, it's worth it...

bit late to pick this up

very nice Podie. I bought myself the straight edged Leven handbrake handle about 6 months ago and was well chuffed with it. Its beautifully made (as you say) and took only a few mins to fit with the supplied allen key.

This is what Leven said in another thread regarding alu stalks for the S Series.

Sorry for the late reply, been out all day.
S-Type stalk s are not as easy as they first look due to the 'active' button on the ends and the cranked angle. If enough owners are interested then we will have another look at it. Please call us direct on Tel: 01268-281611 (do not Post on the Gassing station as it is not appropiate) To speed up the process we would really like to hear from owners in the Basildon area to measure cars.

Does anybody know if they ever got the chance to take measurements? I'm nowhere near Basildon, so couldn't let them have a look at my S3, but I sent them some pictures of the original stalk. Would be nice to know if they're still thinking about it.
So, folks, pick up the phone and do some "alu stalk for S" lobbying....

They've been measuring my car... - although I hadn't realised they asked people not to put anything on GS.

So are we suppose to call them to measure our interest or are they going to go ahead now away ?

I spoke to Leven on Friday and registered my interest and gave little bit of a "push" where I could!

The post that Qualia dug up confirms what I was told - the active ends (horn and screen washer) are apparently a problem... my initial suggestion was to move the horn function to the push in the steering wheel... but in true TVR fashion, not everyone has one (so I've been told!).

I'm not sure what the solution is... but the way I see it, is that if you register your interest here then we can direct them to this thread... OR since Qualia's dug up post suggests they'd rather be contacted, drop them an e-mail... I suppose the latter goes with their wishes...

Podie, any joy on the gear-stick as yet?

I'm interested in stalk, hand-brake and gear-stick, but ideally want to get them all at the same time to ensure they match.

They're working on the gear stick mate...

They've had quite a few requests and from what I undersntad they've measured several cars... but guess what... none of them have the same size thread on the gear lever..!

I was assured that they are working on it though...

That figures. Any determining factors as to which car would have which fitting? Or will it be a try-and-see affir?

When my windscreen was removed the fitter pointed out that the rear-view mirror and the corresponding fitting on the screen are Vauxhall parts, where he (and I) would have expected Ford parts...

IIRC Leven have measured several S3's the odd S2 and some V8S's... and there is (apparently) no correlation between them... even withing "types" of S...!

That surprises me

Put me down for a handbrake, stalks and square switches..

I'll phone them next time I'm able to to hint a little..

Spoke to Simon @ Leven esterday afternoon, and told him I want to spent some money too

Gearstick is going ahead, they are just finalising the method of fixing it, he mentioned using an adapter boss for the current range of gear sticks.

Yep - exactly what I was told... he seemed to have some pretty funky ideas to solve the problem...
