S1 Gatier

My S1 has a odd finger gate gear selection set up which I want to revert back to the original style, two things what is under the gatier in the way of rubber and fixing, also has anybody got a old gatier I can use as a templet to manufacture a original gather.

Hi Boys and Girls
Thank you for the input, dare I say it I was sat in the airport lounge at 4am waiting to fly to Porto pollenca Majorca thinking about how I was going to sort this gatier out much to the wife's annoyance.
Can you tell me how the gatier is fixed other than gaffa tape as I have no reference to how it was before the remodeling job.
