Ok fellas as some of you know I'm restoring my S1 and found the heater motor is rusted solid. I know I can just buy a new motor however it was never a great motor in the first place, so my question is has any of you replaced or changed the motor in yours for a more up to date motor.

Cheers

I'm not sure I just looked on Ebay for something that looked close enough to mine and gave it a go. The KA is almost identical just got a slightly shorter shaft and a different mounting bracket, although the mount is far better.

Ok I've taken what pics I can and hope they make sence to you..
The motor was from a ford KA and only has 2 wires and I will be using the switch off ebay so perfect

This is 1 of brackets that came with it and as you can see I've cut to lugs out from each corner. Then it was just a matter of doing the same to the other bracket then drilling too new holes in them and done.

Im hoping you can see but both brackets where clamped together and fastened on one side of the black plastic fastening on the fan box.

I'm starting to think number 173 was a friday car as the more I repair the more I find couldn't be arsed jobs on it. As most of you know this was bought as a project so never driven by me although its last owners must have cursed at the winscreen demisters, I know you all say there not that good but if your heater was fitted like mine i see why.

I''ll let the pics speak as they say

The masking tape is what should have been removed from the body shell to allow air to the demister vents. As you can see the guy cutting took the smallest amount out. Ive laid what i've now cut out on top over the heater box so you can see it better.
