I've restored the seat frames and had the seats re-trimmed all I am short of now is one of the plastic covers for the seat reclining mechanism. To save me a lot of time searching, does anybody know what vehicle the seat mechanism comes from?

Thanks Ian, I have never followed up on Douglas Valley before and now I find they are only about 20 mins away from where I live! I'll make a call in sometime soon and see if there is anything else there of use to the S forum.

I suspect you are right, I was just hoping not to have to 'trawl' another breakers yard! Especially as few now keep 'old' cars for long. I will have a look to see if I can see anything that would fit OK, a bit more sleuthing!

Hmmm, not such good news Adrian. I did notice that there were no marks at all on the damaged plastic covers, and I would have expected marks had they been of Ford origin. The search may have to be for something that would make a good alternative, although I will look around any other TVR's at Douglas Valley to see if I can add any info.

That wouldn't surprise me at all, it is a good thought and I will follow it up and let members know.

Well I can definitely rule out Landrover Defender seats! They are definitely not the same (however if my seats were wrecked I reckon I might be able to adapt a Defender set). Douglas Valley have 2 S types at present but there isn't much left of either. By an amazing chance however there was one intact seat mechanism cover....the correct side! Guy was helpful however and would check out the wrecks if anybody rang him, it is a well organised yard.
