I am slowly compiling a list of the jobs that need doing and my attention is drawn to my seats. I have a 1989 S1 and the cover on the drivers is shot to bits (foam seems ok) advice please:

1) Do xjs seats just fit straight in or is any fabrication needed?
2) My passenger seat is ok but if I have just the drivers done will it look odd and should I get both done?
3) would my drivers seat (which needs covering) and the OK passenger seat be worth anything to sell?

Cheers

1. No idea !
2. Presume seats are leather ? probably difficult to match colour (unless black)
3. Value ? wouldn't think an awful lot, plenty cars out there with same situation, now a good drivers seat and poor passenger side could be saleable yes

You could just try a local upholsterer , might be cheaper to let them sort it .
Let us know how you get on .

I think you need to get new foam inserts. Didn't somebody on here know somebody who had the requisite mould/means ?

If it helps I've got a spare set of doeskin/oatmeal ex-griff seats (that drop straight in) in good condition that are cluttering up my spare bedroom a tadd. Could go to a good home for a few beer tokens.

PM me maybe ?

Mods - this is not intended as an ad, as I can't really be arsed with the palava. If it contravenes the rules please simply remove it and I'll know why. Just be good to get shot of them to somebody in need and get a bit of space back.

XJS Seats fitted in this thread.
Note that the seats must look like these - there are also wider lardy versions - use your eyes and a bit of common sense.

I've got a pair but they are not fully fitted yet - the clincher for me was that I discovered by accident that TVR seat colours are Jag colours - so the seats are an IDENTICAL colour match.

My Jag seats below (Doeskin)

Adrian Venn (Adrian@ on here) has the seat squab foam for S seats.

I phoned Adrian two weeks ago, he said the squabs were approx 45 quid.He hasn't got any at the moment, I put my name down for a few and he was going to let me know when they were in.
