A friend of mine is wanting to buy my S1 but he is only 22 and he struggling to get insured, just wondered if any of the young drivers on here could advise me who they're insured with?

P.S.
He's only going to use it as a second car so limited milage policys wouldn't be a problem.

I'm 24 and got insured with MSM under their kit car policy.

Very friendly and helpful bunch if you give them a ring and ask for a quote.

My car is ungaraged, second car, 7500 miles limited for £600. I'm 24 (23 when I took the policy out).

I think a couple of other guys my age or less are insured with MSM as well.

I'm 23 now, had my S1.5 at 22.

Classicline do my insurance, although I already had a car insured with them when I took out the TVR policy. Originally they were a little nervous about it but after seeing I had an existing policy they said they'd have a look and get back to me.

3000 miles, fully comp, second car, garaged and european breakdown cover came back at £500.
I've just put in for a renewal quote and it's now down to £241 with the same as above.

It can be a struggle to get initally insured. A number of well known classic insurance companies wouldn't insure me until I was either 30 or had 3 years driving.

It is cheaper for my son to pay the extra on his Golf to be insured 3rd party in any car than to add him to my Insurance, the daft part is his Golf is producing 350hp and his insurance company know that, it defies Logic doesn't it?

Simple Insurance company terminology:

TVR = Instant death
