28/5/05 PH meet - "Son of PH Pint in Enfield Anyone?"
Discussion
We did it! Twenty five months after the original thread was started, the North London Phers actually arranged and attended a meet!
I really enjoyed meeting all of you guys and putting names to err....names. The rain held off, mostly and there were some lovely cars to ogle at and imagine driving home in afterwards.
My highlights? The Vantage, blimey that is a beautiful machine.
The two Nobles, which will race if I get my way next time. The lovely Frogeye which somehow moved sideways across the carpark when I briefly had my back turned. The Porsche eating 205 and my favourite, the Longchamps GTS, a beautifully maintained, exquisite car.
It was also touching to see the blossoming of a loving relationship between our two TVR S3 owners Chris & Doug. As I listened to them compare notes on exhaust flexibility I just knew that Spring was in the air.
The negatives? Hopefully, when we next meet up in July, the sun will shine and we will get together at a more welcoming establishment.
Finally, Freddie V.R. I know you insist on calling your car a C-type replica, but, even though it was quite dank and gloomy in the car park I'm sure that your car looked alot like a Renault Clio!
Seriously, I really look forward to meeting you guys again soon. I had a fun time meeting you all.
Elliott.

Top evening, despite spending all of it in the carpark! Thanks for organising Chris - got there in the end. Good to meet everyone though I think I missed a few people.
That Stratos is LOUD!!
Nah Doug, you just got too close, that's all. That Stratos is LOUD!!

As everyone else said really. Great to meet loads of like minded people and finally get the North London meet off the ground.
I thought the Aston was loud when it left the car park, but that Stratos was incredible. I can just imagine what it must have been like to be sat in a forest watching those go by at full chat back in the day. Awesome.
Look forward to the next time.

Morning all
I think that went rather well! Great bunch of people, awesome cars and the rain even held off.
I'm evidently not the first to say this, but that Stratos sounds amazing Elliot! You also must have been virtually airborne over those bumps down Whitewebbs road after the second or third gearchange in quick sucession!!
It was the first time in ages I'd had a chance to salivate over a Vantage at close range and it looked and sounded even more gorgeous than I remember them doing.
So many other fine machines - two Nobles, a Sprog-eyed Fright, a couple of Porsches, the sheer presence of the De Tomaso. I also happened to be following Graeme as he joined the mainroad and that Coupe sounds like no Hyundai I've ever encountered! Actually, come half ten or so, the whole of Whitewebbs sounded like the start of the Mille Miglia.
I presume the guy who turned up later on with a 944 was there by coincidence? If not, apologies - you were parked right next to me and I never got a chance to say hello.
So, yes - the next one...
I suggest the same format, different location. There tend to be a lot of other things going on during the weekends and if we did so earlier in the day the roads are likely to be littered with Sunday (or indeed Saturday) drivers.
So, sometime in July after Classic Le Mans and somewhere a little more accomodating. My first thought is the Robin Hood in Botany Bay (the connobation in between Enfield and the Potters Bar junction of the M25 for anyone coming from further afield...) It's a fairly typical chain pub, but they have an even larger car park, they do reasonable food and I believe they host events like this fairly regularly. Either way, I suggest we go for somewhere with a large car park and preferably a little bit out of town so we don't attract the wrong sort of attention.

Two and a half years in the making but definitely worth the wait. Great to meet up finally.
Just loaded my piccies onto Photobucket as most of them show number plates and because I am a crap photographer. Quality, as they say in the business, is variable.

Here are a few to start with.

Aston Vanquish:
Frogeye Sprite
I am going to start a new thread shortly: The return of Son of PH Pint in Enfield Anyone? Provisional date: Wednesday the 16th of July 2008. Time 19.00 or when you arrive.
Location either the Plough, Crews Hill, which is just up the road from the King and Tinker or the Robin Hood on the Ridgeway near Chase Farm Hospital.
I will conduct the, err “field research” shortly and report back. I know it is a tough job, but someone needs to shoulder that heavy burden of responsibility.

Elliott: I brought my C Type, but it was clothed in a Romulan cloaking device as I hate swanking.
