Can any one recommend a Garage to repair a 4yr old Ford Focus with a possible cooling problem, shes new to the area and doesn't need anyone telling the head gaskets gone and its going to cost £xxxx to fix when it doesnt! (if thats the case which based on what i've been told I dont think is likely)

Suggestions most welcome

Thanks

Smallford motors is a cheap and reliable place, if a bit grubby-looking. I used to work nearby and took a couple of different cars there, and they always did a good job. It's low-tech though, last I went there, so don't expect the latest diagnostic equipment...

I have used Moorlands in Hatfield a couple of time for my focus, once for a clutch problem, another time for a wheel hub. The AA took me there as they had been recommended to the AA guy from some punters.

Always kept me well infomed and they don't take the piss with labour costs. e.g. they won't bill the full hour if they dont need to.

They always seem busy (which is a good sign) so may take a few days to fit you in.

Tower Hill Kia does a good job- even if you don't have a Kia.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS a certain garage (only 1) in Southdown, Harpenden.

Marsh motors, Catherine street, St.albans. Ask for Dave - grubby place but they know their onions and he's an honest chap.
