I have been meaning to post about this for months now.

Each day travelling to and from Waterloo I see these men made out of stone dotted around the streets and skylines of the Tate Modern. Now I don't know much about art, and I don't know whether this is some clever absract "art" stunt that is supposed cause the exact reaction that I am now speaking of but these men have really started to get to me.

A new one seems to appear each day. It started with the single men attatched to the bridge pavement and has now grown to around 20 of the damn things perched all over buidlings within a 4 mile radius. On the bus I am always looking at the tops of buildings and sure enough you can see a load of them just standing there. Then recently someone has gone to the effort of moving them all round to be facing in on a central point (seems to be an area just next to the Imax). One of them is so high up and so far away on a towerblock that you can just see it with the naked eye. It took lot's of hard work to spot that particular man and he is now my favourite.

I have heard of a TV showing static being gawped at in a window display and called "art" as well as Piano's bein suspended upside down from ceilengs, but is this bizarre display of phallic men around London actually succeeded in it's purpose? (i.e making an everyday Joe Bloggs let it affect him enough to post about it on an internet forum at 0228 in the morning)...

Opinions welcome...

And here is a picture of one of the b@stard statues:
