The first thing I look at, (when reading reviews etc), is the hygiene rating. I would never eat in somewhere with a '0' rating. Far too risky, and you cannot generally see whats going on behind the scenes. Steer well clear, I'd say.Bit of a holy thread resurrection but I often find myself in agreement with the 'secret diner' who blogs and gets a write up in the Journal also.

Going back a few posts, I very much like Cafe 21, but the meal I had in Panis (admittedly I've only been once) was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in this region. I wouldn't go back.

Indeed. Some of us need to take extra care, and this website is useful in getting some info on hygiene levels. I shudder to think what some of these fast food outlets do when you are not looking too closely.
