I thought this was worth a mention..

In last week's Derbyshire Times is a piece on a new garage
"junction 29 Detailing and servicing centre"
in Holmewood

offers lifts, tools and space to carry out your own servicing on your own car from £10/hour.
They dont allow work on fuel tanks, any spraying or welding, but that leaves plenty of stuff you can do.
Article also say they're offering car clubs the opportunity to gather there for free
open 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm.

I should point out I havent used this place, I have no affiliation with it, I just think it's a really good idea that plenty of the midlands lot can make good use of.

Top Work. I work at J30 and live at 23, so this will be ideal to tinker for a couple of hours after work, bang an oil change out etc

That's great news. Does anybody know of one nearer the Solihull area.

pp

Just checked the location and that's half hour away from me.

Excellent news. It will allow me to tinker on my cars through the winter months.

Does anyone know if they may allow you to leave a project there?

Got something prospectively in the pipeline!

if it turns into a longer term parts wait, a rebuild or if you have a restoration project or similar, we do have storage options available. Please call for details.

We are 2 minutes / 1 mile from J29 of the M1 on the A6175 towards Clay Cross.

We have a large, fully equipped workshop (including 2x 2 post lifts, full array of tools, inc airtools), and being first and foremost car-enthusiasts, we would try to help in any way possible.

If you would like to give us a ring, we are on 01246 859778 or 07865 557937, and I'm sure we can accomodate you.

Also, visit the Maxx'd site, or Clio197.net for independent comments on us / our services.

best wishes

Hi Tracy,

Would your 2 post lift take a Bentley Turbo R?

I would like to spend a couple of days under the car, applying rustproofing Waxoyl/Dinitrol etc to the chassis components and floor pan etc.

Thanks,

Warren.

yes it will support your Bentley, they have a 4-tonne capacity so have more than enough power etc.

Give us a ring direct on 01246 859778 / 07865 557937 to discuss.

Just to answer a couple of questions;

. we are fully insured
. we have 2 on-site mechanic / technicians, one of whom is a qualified auto-electrician with all relevany tools
. we have air tools and a full compliment of workshop tools available at no extra cost (just the hire of a bay or 2-post lift)
. the workshop is large, and more importantly for this time of year, HEATED!
. we open 8-8 nominally, but if you have a job that requires starting earlier, or finishing later, please ring as as we are glad to accomodate you. Also, if you are unable to finish the job in a single day, please let us know as we can store your vehicle in our premises overnight
. all parts supplied are OEM, and can be at our premises within 15 mins
. parts prices are unbeatable

If you have any further questions,

please ring 01246 859778 / 07865 557937 and speak with me (Tracy) or Dean.
