Had a phone call for a guy with a very strong Birmingham accent wanting too view it, arranged for him too call today too view, I have very strong suspicions that that's is where its gone and have genuine reasons for this. Only have his mobile which is strangely not obtainable today, learn a lesson here folks, when selling on ebay beware, like an idiot I gave him address and postcode where it was, I know some will say coincidence but I have genuine reason too believe that's where its gone.

Please keep an eye out for it, it is very distinctive, Wessex trailer stickers on front and back and also you can see where previous sign writing as been removed, again Wessex trailer hire.

Thnx, when he called last night he foolishly did not conceal his mobile number, pretty sure he is the one that's been and had it away as he as not turned up as arranged and the phone is still off.

Thing is (fingers crossed) I am told the number he used is a desirable one, bit like a cherished number plate and will definitely be on contract rather than pay as you go so hopefully the BIB will be able too trace it or even a couple of friends I have who work in the mobile phone industry may be able too find something out.

Anyone know how if it is at all possible too trace a number ?

Sticking a phone number in google can occasionally bring results if it's been used in an advert etc.

As above, use internet search engines (more than 1 if need be).

It's possible to trace mosy things if you know how. The first few numbers will identify the servvice provider. The BiB are very likely to do this in the course of their investigation (assuming you told them about it).

I don't know if ebay could help by looking at who was 'watching' the item? Again this would depend if 'he' was actually watching it.

Good luck, I hope you get a result.

Here's a copy n paste of a message I left on locostbuilders....... Good news.

Ebay warning, good news & thanks.

1st the warning.........

If you are selling something on ebay and you get a call too view from a mobile DO NOT give them the location of the item, ask them too give you a land line number and call them back with the info, or arrange too meet them say a mile away and let them follow you back.

Please please DO NOT give out the location.

The good news...........

As a lot of you are aware I had a trailer stolen on Saturday night, well the dick head that called me Saturday too "view it Sunday" was the prime suspect as he never turned up and his big mistake was not too conceal is phone number when he called me. He called from a mobile so I didnt hold much hope out but in the end this was is downfall and the trailer is now in a secure compound waiting for me to formally identify it and collect.

And now the thanks.........

Several on here gave me info and ideas and one person took the trouble too call me and offer assistance tracing the number, when I told the person the number he gave me a bit of uplifting news, the phone number was of value, bit like a cherished number plate so was most likely on contract rather than pay as you go and therefore traceable.
It was, they did, they collared the B@5T@@D, so a very very BIG thank you too all who helped, you know who you are, thank you.

Finally, on the flip side if your an ebay prowling thief conceal your number 1st.

I sell all my cars and motoring-based items from the local tyre centre, never from home.
