Discounted Aston Martin AMV8

Here's the background. I’ve got a good pal, who is still relatively young, and loves fast motors. He has also worked very hard for his 33 years of age to be able to afford the finer things in life.
He started with a Boxter(before EVERYONE had them), then Boxter S, 911 C4 convertible (lost £34k in a year
), M3 convertible (he said this was cheap!!) and finally he ended up with an SLK AMG 55 which he said was one of the best cars he has ever driven.
OK, so I’m stuck for something to do for an hour yesterday, so I flicked on Pistonheads, as you do, and there on the front page it had the very thought provoking piece on cheap muscle cars. This led me to scan the classifieds.....from Ferrari, then to Aston Martin. There was a 2001 DB7 Vantage Volante for £42,000 so I gave said pal a call to suggest he buys it (as you do)
"No good to me" was his reply straight away....."I’ve just picked up a brand new AMV8 this morning" 
He told me he was looking over Christmas and the salesman has called him every day since. The garage concerned has 6 AMV8's for sale that need to go urgently and after much deliberation, he got £8000 off the brand new car!!!!! They all had the full pack of options on them, so were far more than the standard price, but still, a discounted AMV8!!!

Was trying not to be too crude and ask him.
He said that they are £82k standard, and this has got phone prep, Navigation, etc.
I guess around £80? Was going to have a look at it this weekend but been busy.
