Dear All

Have been thinking quite a bit recently about setting up a performance car club in Shropshire / West Midlands area and wondered if this would be of any interest to anyone out there..

Our plan would be to concentrate on a fast modern iconic theme: all cars would have to be visually stunning, great to drive and some how be the sort of car that adds up to more than the sum of its parts. We were thinking of starting with about 5 class cars along the lines of maybe; a V8 Ferrari, a convertible TVR, a Noble, an iconic 911, a modern interesting 2 seater, like an S2000 and maybe something a bit more fast & furious like an RX7 or a Supra.. we would half like to have more slightly cheaper fun cars like a Quattro turbo, Integrale, 70’s corvette, 205 gti, Escort Cosworth etc but would people aspire to join more with a view to expanding a little bit more in size with a few later premium cars like another Ferrari and a Lambo. Or even a Zonda if we knew your shoe sizes...

We would also have a couple of cars that we would not object to the odd scratch on the bodywork that would be centered around use for and would be primarily set up for track days.

In addition we want to have a few iconic bikes, like a sports V twin, a litre superbike and a couple of others as yet undecided. Maybe a jet ski or a speed boat (seeing as we are in the midlands). Would additionally plan on organizing two or three trips a year, which you could use your points for, like Nurburgring (including lapping it in the more trackday car!), Le Mans run and Isle of Man trip specifically for bikes.

If we did it we was thinking of pitching entry around the £3K entry level, a target £5K standard, and maybe a £7500 premium group, points allocation systems similar to other clubs but more generous to the more expensive the higher the group.

Essentially we have been trying to think of what we would want out of a club, being true petrol heads ourselves we would be very interested to hear what anyone out there thinks and would want from something like this. Also if anyone who is involved in a club or who has any money or timesaving advice we would love to hear, or ideally if you, or even better a group of you, would be interested in joining.
