Carcodes Cosford Brunch (CCB) - Sunday 17th August
Discussion
Carcodes Cosford Brunch
Many of you will be familiar with the Midlands Breakfast Club which ran for over 5 years and became one of the most anticipated meets of the Midlands car calendar! The event often had over 300 cars turn up with marques ranging from Datsuns to Deloreans! A big thank you needs to go out to Coxy for arranging these meets and putting up with some of the cr@p associated with holding car events
The Midlands Breakfast Club is unfortunately no more but I have the personal backing of Coxy to reinvent the meet and I am pleased to announce one event (initially) for 2014! The event which follows the same format will be known as: Carcodes Cosford Brunch
Further information can be found here: Carcodes Cosford Brunch website and please feel free to have a mooch around the site as there are big savings for petrolheads!
The meet runs officially from 08:30 till 11:30, and people are allowed to park up in the main area from 08:30 onwards. The only charge is the car park fee to the RAF Museum which is £2.50.
Breakfast is available from the main cafe from 09:00 - 11:00 where they serve bacon and sausage baps, hash browns, tea and coffee and hot chocolate.
Entry to the RAF Museum is also free so an excellent excuse to get your car out for a drive and bring the family along so it keeps everyone happy.
There are a few rules which need to be pointed out, as we have been given strict instructions by RAF Cosford to provide a safe trouble free meet. If we fail to do this then future events will not happen, so please please treat the car parks and access roads like your grans care home!
If you have any questions then please email me via Pistonheads or the Carcodes website.
NEXT MEET IS SUNDAY 17th AUGUST

Glad someone didn't let this meet die. Such a wide range of cars, always enjoyed going.
Been on the website and it says that the main parking between the hangers is for clubs only? Is it not first come first serve as such like previous meets?
I always got there early so I could get a good spot
That's one thing I need to finalise but you can be assured that early birds will still get on the top hangar car park but other cars of the same marque will be ushered your way so we can try and keep the Germans from the English and the Italians from the French Been on the website and it says that the main parking between the hangers is for clubs only? Thanks for taking this on, i have liked the face book page and invited my friends. I think this is a really good meet and would like to see it remain at Cosford, maybe it would be good to hand out a leaflet on entry saying "Welcome to our little meeting please drive slowly and keep the noise down and please pay £2.50 to park " That way they know the score.
Food for thought
Hi Chippy,Food for thought
Thanks for your comments. We will be liaising closely with Cosford to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible and we have a flyer printed ready for the event with some friendly guidelines - good minds think alike
UPDATE 31.3.14
Everything is moving forward nicely and we are hoping that the 11th May will be a fantastic day!
There is one small change to the standard MBC format that some people may be disappointed with so thought I should make it public. Unfortunately Cosford will not give permission for us to use the top car park between the Cold War Museum and Hangars so the event will be held on the main car park(s), filling up from the lower car park, upwards.
The reasoning for this change in location is down to people speeding and generally driving erratically at previous events. The Manager has made it clear that they want CCB to be a success and they want to limit the risk to their visitors. Whilst they are not opposed to us using the top car park at future events it would be on the proviso that this years events run smoothly. The 11th May event is a trial and hopefully everyone who attends will act sensibly.
Hope this does not put people off as I need your support to move this forwards.
Thanks
Paul

lol! Will be nice to go under the radar and head for the restaurant and join the queue for a bacon bap and sit down and enjoy it for a change!!
I'll be there in something! Not sure what, maybe the Gurgel if the weather is nice!! Either way, I won't have a HV vest on so not easy to spot anymore!!
Lets hope the event meets the expectations of all those that attend. The Midlands Breakfast Club was a cracking event mate, thanks for you guidance.I'll be there in something! On Saturday I visited Cosford to do a bit of planning for the event, in particular sorting out the spaces for those car clubs who will be turning up. If anyone is a member of a club and you would like all club cars to be together then please let me know and I will see what I can do.
Thanks for your support guys.
I plan to do all future updates on Facebook: CCB On Facebook

I fancy coming for the day but wouldn't want to arrive only to find there's no parking spaces. How are you making sure it doesn't overfill?
There is nothing anyone can do to prevent that as it's a public place. I would recommend everyone turns up as close to 9:00 to9:30 as possible.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
I am waiting to hear back from Cosford in respect of future dates, in particular the August date which is the next one penciled in.
We could do no more, the event went smoothly and everyone seemed happy considering the weather! I echo those comments above, it would be fantastic to see more exotic and classic metal at future events. The weather would have undoubtedly put some people off and I was limited to what promotion could be done due to the limitation of the two car parks for the first event.
We counted 155 cars through the gates (excluding Cosford customers), which, on a rainy day with limited promotion is perfect. I will provide an update following a meeting with the GM at Cosford, I hope to have some positive news!
In the meantime, HERE are some photos from the event. CDHPix took some fantastic photos and I will link to these later this evening.

The next Carcodes Cosford Brunch is confirmed!
SUNDAY 17th AUGUST
There are a few changes which should make the event even better, these are:
1) Earlier start and finish time
8:30am until 11:30am
This is to limit the cross over with Cosford Museum customers.
2) The Hangar Car Park will be available to registered guests who pay £3 donation to our chosen charity. All of your £3 will go to the Birmingham Women's Hospital Trust who helped my wife and I through a turbulent time with our little daughter Millie. Thanks to BWH, Millie is a fit and healthy little girl so it's my way of saying thank you.
To donate please click HERE
The Hanger Car park has a capacity of 65 so we aim to have no more than 3 of the same make and model
Car on this car park. The more interesting the car the better !
3) Costa Coffee should have a separate kiosk so those seeking the more flavoursome coffee will not need to clog up the breakfast queue
Please note all car parks will still be monitored and controlled by RAF Cosford and a £2.50 car parking charge will apply.
If you would like to register to have your car on the hangar car park then please email carcodes@gmx.co.uk with your name and make and model of your vehicle and donate £3 via the charity website: https://www.justgiving.com/CosfordBrunch
Thanks
