Kingswood is fine, its just a normal Bristol suburb... certainally a little cheaper than redland/clifton.

Damned by faint praisehehe I can't imagine anyone would actually want to live in Kingswood, but there's not actually anything wrong with it. As people have said though the commute to Abbey Wood would be a nightmare unless you were on two wheels. OTOH (and I can't remember where you are moving from) while people grumble about the traffic in Bristol it's nothing compared to London.

Indeed, it's had an 'okay' (from me) and a 'fine' so far. If Clifton or Redland is too pricey I would suggest Westbury Park, Bishopston, Henleaze or Westbury on Trym over Kingswood, far nicer areas and an easier commute.

I have lived in Kingswood for six years now, its not too bad really.

Agree with the other posters that say it will be a nightmare to commute to Abbey Wood. I go the other way ( oo-err! ) most mornings and the ring road gets snarled up from the junction with the A432 all the way to Abbey Wood.

Trouble is that the infrastructure cannot cope with Axa (3,500 workers ), Hewlett Packard, Abbey Wood and UWE all within half a mile of each other and BAE, Rolls Royce and Airbus just a mile away.

Sure I read a whole lot more people are moving into the HP site soon too.
