There were definitely some decentish places at top of Park Street, problem is I haven't been in town for a while and places seem to change hands quite frequently. I'm also crap with names 
. However less likely to end up with Chav types, Students yes but apart from being really young they're usually ok.

sounds good I just can't think of any in the town. I'll get my thinking cap on (or ask around) The hatchet would fit the bill complete mix of people but still a lot of students

You having a laff?
Hatchet is full of bikers, goths and pierced people, hardly what I envisage most the attending PHers enjoying. If its a night out, I'd rather have a more lively pub than one I will fall asleep in or be discussing Piercing Monthly with my neighbour.
Tested last were MBargo and Lizard lounge, and the tunes great and the sights easy on the eye

must try not to argue with the dude in the unmarked blue saloon Volvo v70 again - had to do some rapid slightly drunken 'unarguing' to not get my collar felt...
