What on earth...somebody was doing donuts??

FI, you want to swap that BMW for a battered Nova with a couple of trays under the wheels, sounds like it's right up your street.
I was asked to get some tyre squeel and do something dramatic for a sound guy...I thought why not do two doughnuts...then I stopped and parked the car up. I don't think compared to what happened last night it was a bad thing. Everyone to my knowledge had a good time and apart from 10seconds where I got too involved with the excitement of the cameras and sound guys I thought whats the problem. The American guys loved it for the footage...and it was safe to do so. I didn't ruin the evening as everyone had fun like I did but yeah looking back I maybe should have done something less dramatic. OK I'm justifying what I done and it sounds to people not there it was disgraceful behaviour but it was in the heat of the moment and with the cameras/sound crew around wanting something like it I thought whats the harm? OK maybe your concensus is I shouldn't be driving a BMW but I DO drive carefully and I DO enjoy driving and don't attend 'Max Power' events as I love real cars, even though I driving a BTCC looking BMW, and thats what I'm working towards...an M3.

Sorry if it came off as wrong what I did but in the spirits of the evening I got too involved.

Seems like he pulled a few doughnuts which some didn't agree with.

People have had a say on the matter.

He's listened and respects peoples views. Seems to me like he's realised that it was a mistake and learnt that fact.

Give the guy a break and get some photos up chaps.

Well said that man, so here goes:

M6 Convertible

Maserati 4200GT

TVR Chimera (the mount struggled with the V8's vibrations!)

Porsche 997 Cabriolet

Mercedes CLK

These are all test shots. Owners will be getting the hi-res proper shots imminently but the film-maker has asked me to hold back on their release for the time being.

Thanks again to everyone who came down and waited so patiently. Work rate slows significantly with a film crew...

Engine off, push.

Looked like a good turn out And! Where is this (above?). Do you think a red 328 GTS would look good under that? smile

Good idea in theory but the distance between the light strings is too great to be able to push within the exposure duration - think this was 15sec driving above walking pace and the lights don't cover the length of the frame.

Please PM me if you're doing this again! I think the Chromescent (Flip) paint job would give wicked results!

Somebody at the meet took a great pick of my Noble using the street lamp as a backdrop. If you could drop me a copy of the pick it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry for not posting before, but a big thanks to Andy for organising the other night. I think the pics look great and it was an interesting experience. I have seen these kind of shots and wandered how they were done and now I know. Althought the pics of the Chim were hard to set up Andy was very patient as were the two American guys, who were also passionate about their work. I would love to hear the sound recordings they made of the Chim as you never hear it yourself, you are always driving away from the noise.
Once again thanks for the evening and it was good to meet some new faces as well as a couple of the regulars, had to dash off though as it was a school night and have to get up early next morning.

Cheers Andy.

Adam sent me the phot soon after I posted. I do like the look of after dark shots they are definitely different.

I'm looking forward to the www.luminarymovie.com website coming back on line. I assume they are uploading Thursday's work?

Glad you got your shot Si

Regarding the website, I've been keeping an eye on their blog for more regular updates, but nothing from Europe has yet been added. They're about to move on from France to either Germany or Holland, guess they might manage something on their travels but I do know their schedule has been just soo packed.

General note to those who were there: I've sent some of the images so far, if you haven't had yours I should be doing the rest today.
