Rather than contaminate other threads too much, maybe best to get all the snow pics in one place....

I'll start it off.... not much snow in Bournemouth, but a large empty icy car park will do just fine for a bit of morning fun.!!!

All the snow in Bournemouth was pretty much gone by mid morning... :-(

A few flurries in the air now, but it's decidedly boring really.

And for those who couldn't guess what happened next... here's a short video clip.

(apolgies for the camera work - trying to film with one hand and drive with other isn't that easy.

(i'm over to one side of the car park in this one because it was a better layer of snow so easier to do slower one-handed donuts etc. I wanted both hands on the wheel for the faster drifts.

wicked thats hengistbury head isnt it.. I have visions when at high speed or spinning in there of becoming one with the ticket machine lol.
yes, hengistbury head at 7am this morning. There are a couple of lamps, a ticket machine and some recycling facilities to become entagled with potentially, but the best place i know to "make good of the opportunity to learn about the dynamics and abilities of your car a little better."
Something everyone should do so they know what to do if you get into trouble on the road one day. With the traction and DSC on, the car wouldn't do anything. With it off and 400BHP (of which about 10BHP was used) available through a limited slip diff - well that's a different story!

Here's the link to a video of some ice drifting......

You can see how slippery it was. I struggled to get enough grip to get up any speed at all...! (my rear tyres are pretty heavily worn which doesn't help find grip either)

And another video....

I think this should be a permanent year-round fixture (i've seen those little ice rinks i nshopping centres all year round, so why not the car ice rink).

Taken this morning in a suitable car park, it’s no 400bhp M5 but the old auto tank still lives on, let’s hope it snows again and soon...

Nice one....
Would only be rude not to wouldn't it...!
4bhp would prob be enough on ice but having RWD and a limited slip diff definately makes for fun.
When i was out this morning I also had a fiesta, a seat, and Cortina/Mk1 Granada(sorry, not sure which) and even a guy in a VW transporter van were having a ball too..

agreed - it's a good way to learn how your car handles. Shame if some people are irresponsible about it though.
You certainly don't need to be bouncing off rev limiters when on ice...!

Indeed but I’ve wanted one for so long, I’ll stick to wide clear car parks should be alright

Cheers, being reading posts on the forums for a while and then saw the snow pictures and thought about time I shared, good times
I wouldn't risk the M5 but as you can see from my pics/video's, you would have to be a complete dognut to do any damage to car, people or the surroundings.

Anyway, welcome. I hope you get your M3 as you want..... I love my M5. (ps. take a ride in an M5 before getting the M3).

Speaking to Stuart at MEV the other day he sent me a photo of his latest creation. Unfortunately it's unlikely to get far in the trials program but so far winter trials have been good

It's all good fun Jim. Actually the one in my profile is excellent in the snow. Leightweight (370kg), narrow tyres, CVT Gearbox, no ABS. Bit chilly though LOL but I'm used to that
Noddy must be very happy with it then
