Arriva Bus 472 from bus staion to Heswall bus staion then 5 min walk.
Heswall bus station to the Cottage loaf in 5 minutes by foot confused its almost 2 miles away! . . . . . . . . . . . . far easier to jump on the afformentioned 472 and jump off it on the other side of the roundabout to the Cottage Loaf, although I'm sure if asked nicely somebody will pick him up from WK station smile
The 5 mins walk bit made me chuckle too. You're looking at probably nearer to an hour than 5 mins!!

If I'm about then train to West Kirby and it's a 5 min drive up to the Cottage Loaf so quite happy to collect from station.

Never used a bus in my life so can't help with that one.
Public transport... hehe

Alex, do you frequent the WRO in W.Kirby often? wink

Oh God, so much of me hopes that you spotted me pulling up in my car a couple of weekends ago when I was driving rather than this weekend when I was carless and in a pathetic state through Sailor Jerry!

Yes, most weekends as it's one of the only places that serves Peroni on draft.

Should have said hello!

Its on the corner of Grange road and there's also the WRO lounge, they're also doing a 'WRO loft' (converting upstairs) in December and doing a courtyard at the back of the white buildings too I think!

Terrace C in Heswall also serve Peroni on tap, managed by Rob Carter, who also used to run Bar One Hoylake.

ETA: I get out too much wink

I thought Rob Carter had bought the old Eskimo (what is now Glassfire) with Oli Green?

Didn't realise he used to run Bar One... not been there for a while as the clientele tend to be... erm... scum, but I did used to go there when my mates from school were running it for Savi. Although now owned by Adam Bale, a lad I also went to school with.

So, Lund, where and when did you spot me around the Wro?

From what I can gather it was Robs parents who ran Bar One. Glass fire's pretty decent too, only been there once though. Hoylake has gone downhill, its now Heswall & West Kirby really for the atmosphere and its generally where everyone goes.

In all honesty it's the girl in your profile image I recognise from the WRO, but also recognise you and can't place it, so its possible I have seen you in the WRO too!

Totally agree with you re Hoylake goingn downhill. Glassfire is probably one of the best of a bad bunch with Jacks not being that bad. It's all down to the people who end up there. It's ended up full of idiots and I hope WK doesn't go the same way.

Funnily enough, its always the girl in my profile that people seem to recognise, well, she does get around a bit.

Will change profile picture to an up to date one, if you spot me, say hi!

Jack Rabbit Slims is expensive, and all the drinks are priced the same. Crazy. If I see you out I'll be sure to introduce myself - what do you drive?

I've been to the WRO a few times and found it to be full of rich kids spending money that isn't theirs!

As Alex said, Peroni on tap (for £££ IIRC) almost saves it.

Posh totty sperm

Where is good for a drink in WK apart from the WRO then? I tend to go to Heswall if I go out on the Wirral recently. Ravenscroft then to that wee tiny bar across the crossroads - has a spanish name?

I think so, it has been a fair while since I've been back home.

Los Cabos. I used to go there all the time, my friends work the bar. However recently I've found myself appreciating Terrace C alot more. The Ravenscroft is great for what it is - basically just a weatherspoons. Food isn't all that brilliant, but you get what you pay for.

Drinking in West Kirby is great. The WRO & Red Door are fairly 'upmarket' drinking holes, however there's Slinky's on Banks Road just up the road from Checkpoint auto stores which is a nice bar. Scog's & Koi seem to be quite popular too.
