G'morning all !

I have a date with a girl I really want to impress this Sunday, rather than the usual riff raff I end up with on a Friday night. I've not really made the effort for a couple of years now and I've lost touch with nice places to go.

Inside Out near Preston is a possibility but I've done that place to death in past times. The Wellspring in Sabden is good too, but I fancy a change.

Any ideas of a nice cozy place to go ?

Thanks in advance !

Cheers Mango, I'm at the Olive Press next week for the annual works fight so I've booked Burlingtons after reading some rave reviews (forgot it was there !)

Top marks chaps !

Thanks again for the advice !

Turns out she saw me taking another girl home on Friday night, I was unaware she was in the pub. Full snub proceedings were issued on Saturday evening, so I didn't take her out.

I was gutted, but it's what I deserve I suppose.

Went for our Christmas do at the Olive Press, and it was crap.

Service was rude, most of them were new that night. Booking was messed up, booked for 16 they had 14 at 5pm when it was booked for 6pm. Food was substandard for the price, undercooked turkey and bland.

To be fair they were at full stretch with the time of year, and a few drunken wideboys on other tables probably didn't help matters.

Had shark at the plough once, a good few years ago now, very nice it was too !

Took a different girl to the original post out last Sunday to Owens in Southport after rave reviews from some friends. Get there and they aren't serving food so I went to the Scarisbrick on Lord Street. Didn't realise it was a 2 for £6 type of a place, but despite the food being beyond bad, it was something to laugh about.

Sounds like a good alternative, How would you describe Bangladeshi food. I imagine it to be like a good old curry - but more lentils and a little drier ?

Must try that Sakura !

Anyone know what's happening with the old Little Chef near Longton ?

Also a little bird tells me the Italian Orchard folks will be opening a new place in the Black Horse (A59 opposite Bhangla Fusion) in the not too distant future.

Sounds like some good eating around my end soon !
