Weekend barn self catering Yorks Dales
Discussion
bloody hell...
6 hours driving if there's even a small traffic snarl-up!
looks like i'd better book the whole day off on friday then...
so, shall we all communicate regarding who's bringing what and more importantly which type of ale? oh and I suppose we'd better discuss the food aspect too

I can knock up a huge chilli in a giant cooking pot, freeze it and bring it up with me for the friday night. Then all we need do is put some rice on, loads of crusty bread & chunks of real butter. Will that do? with cold beers and red wine.
sounds ideal warben, much like the LeMans cook-up you did? (no pun intended)
I can bring bolly and beer if needs be, although I note that there is a pub 1/2 mile away, do we know if there is a plan to inhabit the hostelry instead?

I had offered to do the whole three course jobbie, similar to last time. Happy to take care of just the starter and dessert though. Oh and copious quantities of red wine goes without saying! I hope my pint glass is still there!
PS: If anyone has any food allergies, is vegetarian or really can't eat something, now is the time to email or shout here.
Sorry Jo, didnt mean to step on anyones toes, what menu were you planning to do for us?
My chillis are pretty good though (I finish them off with chocolate, the secret ingredient).
We can get the wine here...

You're not stepping on my toes, but thank-you for the consideration, I'd only offered because cooking isn't a stressful event for me.
If you do the chilli main course I'll do something along similar lines as a starter. Off the top of my head an easy one (the kitchen is a little limited!) would be nacho's with cheese, chilli, guacamole, salsa etc. Great with a few beers.
I'm in for an easy life, if someone else is prepared to cook, then I won't stand in the way.
