Was Simon M there? I emailed him last week but no reply smash someone give him a nudge if you see him.

And and lads - you know I'm the biggest Mazda fan around but I think you quite convincingly lost the 'lift your bonnet and see how big a crowd you can draw' competition to the Chevvy LS and the AJP! (or is it a SP6?)

Bought the Sagaris engine that was up on PH Classifieds. Phil Haigh from Aeromotive and I went down on Friday to Bicester to pick it, and we managed to get a run in the Blackiepauls Sagaris LS conversion.....utterley unbeleivable performance!

So the project is on to upgarde my T350 with a 'Sagaris Red Rose 4ltr Straight Six'.

Hope to be back on the road asap with 400bhp T350! With a bit of luck its should be ready to bring along to the next meet.

Cheers. BB

Good question Scott.

As you know, I spoke to Tricky on this subject and he would prefer it to be back at Drighlington, but to be honest the meets there had got to a stage where no one at all was attending. Thats why I started the thread about whether people wanted a meet and where they wanted it.

From my perspective I'm happy to meet at any location really, and Drig is actually closer for me. However, the meets at Oulten do seem to have started picking up now and we are getting decent numbers of cars along.

One option is to change it every once in a while, for example move it between 3 locations for example Diglington, Oulton then White Bear at Tingley?

Maybe this will get the conversation going again....!

Great news - admirable bouncebackability!

As for the venue - I'll go with the flow. If it alternated though it might get a bit confusing for floaters who don't come online much and check their emails.

Have you got shares in the place Paul?

Squires is a better option for a run out and then Fish & Chips like others do to out Stamford way
but it is a bit far for most for an after work pint and chin wag IMHO

My vote goes to Drig as most know - but only because I have to drive past it to get to Oulton anyway
(or drive thru the stty bits of Leeds and cr*p roads to get there)

I think the main problem with the Railway was only that when it is cold then it is even colder in that car park
but now we have a few nice evenings I am sure it would be well attended again.

Maybe a safer option is to have "summer" meets at the Railway and "winter" meets at Oulton
in the more sheltered car park where we stand a better chance to be outside with the cars longer

That's my 2 penneth worth

Cheers
Rich

Squires would be a disaster

It's not a bad run out and fairly local for some of us, but generally busy with bikers especially during these months and absolutely swimming with plod in both marked and unmarked capacities!

Not to mention the food is utterly bleeding DIRE!

That being said, I think one big organised gathering at somewhere like Squires would go down well

If you're aiming for more bikery venues, the Sun Inn would be a better option, but quite a distance for some of us

Some good and valid comments so far. Here are my thoughts just to keep the post ticking along:

The meet was started at Drig so I think we should stay somewhere local to that, and I think we should have a West Yorkshire PH monthly meet where ever the location. As far as possible venues are concerned, then heres my 2 peneth.

Squires: Too far away for most folks I would suggest, and principly its a bikers venue.

Railway at Drig: I personally don't like the Railway, the car park is poor, and pub isn't really a pub its more of a restaurant, food is very expensive and the place doesn't lend itself to a sit down with a pint for a natter....and its misrable in winter!

Inn keepers Lodge Oulton: Probably a bit far out for some folks. However its got a 'private' car park, food is good and cheap, and it lends itself to a sit down inside or outside for a pint and a chat.

Old Brick Works at Driglington. It's not far at all from the Railway so the location is good. It has a big car park (but its gets quite busy most of the time). Food is good and cheap, and you can sit inside or out for a pint and a chat.

White Bear Tingley: Known location for many local Pher's. Good access to location off the M62 / A650. Good sized car park. Good cheap grub and plenty of space insdie and out for a pint and a chat.

So thats my view on possible locations.

In conclusion, I do believe that the venue needs to be changed once in a while, as peole get stalled with same venue month in and month out. On the flip side we don't want to be changing around all of the time. So my suggestion would be to stick with Oulton until the end of this summer, and then perhaps have a look for a winter home, and then a fresh venue for spring 2011 onwards?

Cheers. BB.

Did I mention Squires ?

Railway, Oulton lodge, White bear all roughly same - Railway was pretty good summer last year from the times I went to it
