Can I just point out that, whichever route we do decide on, IT WILL NOT be posted on the open forum! er, nope, no reason officer.

From another perspective. Single lane A and B roads are great when there is only 5 or 6 of you to worry about, but when there is a group of you, half the fun is on the motorways and dual carriageways where you can switch and swap positions around rather than all follow in a crocodile line.

Just a thought

so how might a lowly PHer go about finding the meeting point and route, so that he might drive down in convoy to such an event?

if it is not to be posted in open forum

To be honest, the meeting place and time is not such a problem. But telling everyone the exact route might, just occasionally, attract unwanted attention if you know what I mean ...
"Hmm, where shall we park the safety van today?"
"I know Sarge!"

Makes it sound like it has a lot in common with a Kray brothers style protection racket....

bloody well hope you're living down south by then! otherwise i'll be some kind of pissed off with plenty of estate agency-type people

convoy on the motorway is a great idea if there are loads of us, I remember fondly the convoy to PF2003 (time goes by so quickly!) the only problem is that norfolk has no motorways and the A47 is dualled only in parts...

myself + guest are probably going to be there on the friday, I think more to find a good spot to camp and put up the campfire we also might (if the place is a bit unpopulated on the friday) have a wander to a nearby village pub...wherry bitter is fantastic

Saturday for me. One benefit of it being Sat-Mon is that I don't need to take any time off work,

well, there will be me + guest so that's 2 in one tent..

I think it'll be much like LeMans where groups camp in separate spots...perhaps grouped around campfires or communal areas... although since there will be ladies on this occasion perhaps being in close proximity to the other tents is not such a good idea... best get there early and get a tent far away from the others then
