Doh! Missed this thread!!!!

I'm off to Hemsley now!!!! (but heading up to Middlesbrough for the match). Might see you all (briefly).

thought I saw a red VX briefly at Hemsley, about 1pm Tony?

Yep me! strangley, I briefly saw the back of your car, when I went back though the car park, I coudln't find you. You must have just left.

I had a fantastic drive up to Teesside on the Hemsley TT road. Only 2 cars in my way for the whole trip! Then watch my team beat the Toffies. Great day out!

Doh Doh Doh!!!!

Accidentally broke my broadband on Thursday eve so I couldn't get access! So I thought the idea of going for a 'cheeky pint' after work on Friday would be ok! As I couldn't log on at home I was a bit stuffed! Ar$e!

Anyway, I managed to make it out about 1pm - headed north on the M1, then took a sharp left and headed toward Leyburn, Askrigg, Mucker(great name!!)Keld, Nateby, then headed south toward Cotterdale, Hawes, Buckden and generally towards Skipton then back on the A road to Leeds.

I did about 170miles in total - all roof off, and apart from one very near miss with 40 odd cows in the middle of the road, I had a fantastic day!

Great route actually - good combination of single(ish) track with great senery and some wider B-Roads where you could really open up the right foot thumbup

Next time I'll try not to be a complete muppet and disappear a few days before setting up a drive! Doh!

Cheers
Rich

Rich, drove that route but the other way round on Sunday. Busy in Hawes but every other area was quiet. Oh... went over Buttertabs pass and what a beautiful route that is.

Excellent - good route I thought, long but a good mix!

I didn't actually go into Hawes, although the traffic was really light up until the Ilkley bottleneck!

That Buttertubs run is great! I was going to do it although I was bloody knackered by the end of it!!

I think we should try this in a group!

I wonder if that has been thought of before... idealaugh.

On a serious point I think another drive before winter sets in, has to be on the cards with a pub lunch of course.

Are you talking about this Saturday as in the next one, or next Saturday as in the one next week? confused

I was thinking about the 21st but just had a quick look at the forecast and it looks like heavy showers. The following weekend is the Wolds Wazz so maybe not that weekend either.

Yep - good plan Bob, but as you rightly pointed out the weather isn't great

I might put the car on axle stands actually and try and paint the underneath before winter sets in. Crappy job but it needs doing!
