Hi,

Iv'e asked ted to move the October date to the 24th. Is this OK?

I'm still waiting for a response from Harewood house.

Nope, up to my ears in work and broken cars. Grrr why is the day before you go on holiday always stressful.

With a bit of luck I should have it all done by about 10:00 tonight, then I'll be

I know what you mean, for the first ime in weeks, work is busy I still need to do some washing and ironing too before I even start to pack, and we need to get up at 3am to get to the airport.

See you in Salzburg at about 10am tomorrow

The 18th April has been approved by harewood. The only sticking point is the cost of entry.

Other venues are Bolton abbey at £4 for the Day. Dates would still be 18th April, 24th October and 15th August.

Ted has added the event dates to the calendar. So we will be meeting somewhere on these dates. Bolton Abbey has a nice flat car park and is easy to get to. We could just turn up and grab a spot .

Harewood is expensive, we only need to meet in the grounds but they seem to want to charge full entrance. Thats £9, and thats per person

I sent them another email so i'll let you know if it changes. If there not bothered then i will change the venue to Bolton Abbey.

Harewood is a fabulous venue but £9/head is a lot. Surely they'll negotiate. After all we're talking about a lot of heads. If they don't negotiate then they loose everything. Negotiate 'interests' with them, some income is better than no income and we're talking about people with decent spending power to go buy stuff in their cafe's and shop. Add to that the attraction that our cars will give to other 'day tripper' punters.

Sorry but I negotiate for a living and I see things like this as a challenge

I am already haggling. I dont' want to loose the venue but if we have an alternative then it helps.

West Yorks TVRCC do an event there every year and they won't be paying £9. I've been with them the last couple of years and there's been no fee for me. They need to see the longer term. If this is successful we're planning three/yr. The dates they've offered are dead from their point of view so the park will be inefficient. They may want to take an extra £900 but £500 is better than nothing. My guess is their opening offer includes entry to everything. Well our people can choose on the day if they want to go see the house or visit the bird garden. Park only entry must be small change, say £5 tops.

Hope that's £5/car. If it's any more than that, they can kiss my ass.

What about Castle Howard, or failing that, there's always Chatsworth? (Car Park £1.00, and friendly and helpful).

Castle Howard's OK but Chatsworth!! Well I've been a few times but it's hardly Yorkshire.

Im sure Chris will find us all somewhere suitable - we just have to give him time to "negotiate"
