Work's not looking very good at all at the moment... I got brought in to migrate them to all this new-fangled technology stuff. Now they're getting bought out, so no new technology, they want to save money (i.e. lower headcount), and the new parent company will have their own technology people/strategy. There's nothing for me to do here whileever that's the case, so most likely no job for me before long.
Then there's the £ks I've spent on hotel bills whilst waiting for the house to be ready down here that I probably won't get back as relocation expenses now (along with furniture, estate agent fees, etc.). Finally, there's the complete lack of other jobs for me in this part of the country (and most others) if/when I need a new job.
So I really can't justify £ks on a driving holiday when I might be in the dole queue any day, plus the car will be up for sale as of this weekend... I'm just having it serviced on Thursday first.
Couple of good things, though... I've got rid of all of those stone chips off the front of the car - the whole weekend was spent on the drive with a pot of touch-up paint.
Secondly, as soon as all this settles down I'll be getting myself a nice shiny Tuscan (Red Rose).
