quite an essay well done. For info I never received an email so you can put your soapbox away. Maybe I'll make it to the next one (or not)
Well, for YOUR info, there's about 14 other people here that got the email including YOUR Yahoo email address right at the top .... so if YOUR email system has let YOU down, don't take it out on one of the friendliest, most considerate, and helpful blokes on this forum.
Oh, and less of the patronising attitude as Stu's no mug in the intelligence stakes either

FFS whos got an attitude? this bullshit coming from a bunch of people who profess not to be a clique.Pathetic. All over a lost email get a grip guys you lot seem more bothered about it than I am!
Bothered?
Not at all, but do keep this up as it's keeping me entertained!
I'd just like to say that Stu puts ALOT of effort into organising these runs out, and ultimately he takes on ALOT of responsibility to make sure everything goes ok and everyone is happy.
I'm sure the last three runs have seen over half the people all being new to them and each other, especially the last one, so I don't believe it can be called a clique. I've only met half the people once or twice and they all made me feel really welcome!
You missed out because Yahoo mail played up. To have a go at Stu after all the effort he puts in really is a little off.
Dave

Well I've been a member of this site for over 6 years. I read every day but don't post alot - only if I've got a question or something to say really. I have no connection with the people on this thread apart from being a friend of tallbloke so no axe to grind really. Re-read the whole thread my friend. You are being a grade A @rse, so run along now and leave us alone, there's a good boy.
whatever, its just got toally blown out of proportion. I think my original points been proven with some of the childish replies that have been posted. Its a misunderstanding but I seem to be the only one grown up enough to accept it. I would have apologised had as I say my original point has subsequently proven correct anyway! You've had your fun anyway, I'll have my fun on the next run you arrange

Do I smell a weapons grade cock end?
Slightly singed by the smell. Consider yourself flamed!
Seriously though, the group isn't cliquey at all, there were people from all over the region, ranging from Lincs to N.Yorks and maybe further, I have organised lots of runs with other clubs but this was the first of Stu's that I have been on, and my dad came along too.
We were welcomed, people talked to us, and made conversation, no mean feat given most of us were still asleep till we hit Guisborough!
So its not cliquey, its friendly and its not fair to abuse someone who has organised a run for everyone, totally unpaid, and without an ulterior motive other than to give people a chance to stretch the legs of their cars.
Speaking as someone who organises runs its not easy, and it is stressful and the last thing you need is someone having a go without cause.
The only conflict should be Porsche V Tvr! (No competition really )

looks like I wasnt deemed suitable for this one, had an email probing my occupation?? But heard nothing about the location so couldnt come. Obviously one for the clique.
a.looks like I wasnt deemed suitable for this one.
Who says you where not, nobody said as such, so why make a statement like that to people you do not know.
b.had an email probing my occupation??
Big deal, I'm a close protection officer. Nobody knows you so its good to fill in the gaps. The Tunnel Runners in London have had problems with gate crashers so expect a few gentle questions.
c.But heard nothing about the location so couldnt come.
You where on the email list I believe. If there was a block on your email or it went to your junk file you cannot expect to get mail even though it was sent.
d.Obviously one for the clique.
Now I'm sorry but that is as childish as it comes. I knew one other driver on the weekend and if he had not made it I would have known nobody so thats not a clique is it? Due to meeting some very competent drivers I have offered out a spare seat for this Fridays drive to Blackpool.
All in all its a shame it did not pan out for you this time but don't take it out on people you have no idea who they are.

Who spat the dummy first?
Lots of fast cars driving together draws attention, its only right that people should be checked out, they don't want someone who doesn't know what they're doing to mess it up for the others.

Now if I recall I did pass a Porsche at warp factor 9.
TVR 1 / Porsche 0
TVR 1 / Porsche 0
Yeah, only cos I'd pulled over with a siezed fuel pump
And seriously John, we are a friendly bunch but just don't appreciate sweeping statements when all we have done is try to accomodate a newbie.
Ok, if your email played up, it happens. May I suggest that an apology, even if only a private email to Stu would be an appropriate olive branch. Then next spring (or one of Oliver's runs over the next few weeks) you can come along for yourself and see what a bunch of normal if slightly odd individuals we are
Lord knows, Satch and Tonto drive those Vauxhally type things and we put up with them
