Tis not the expense of the mota but the range of inclement weather
ah I agree in part, but this discussion started with Jonty not wanting to take a Ferrari out in bad weather and me saying that they are only cars when all said and done and they will wash, and a good jet wash (even if it is wielded by the local hand wash boys ) can remove most nasties from underneath if you ask them to.quattroTom said:
The one thing I didn't want to do when I started the East Yorks meet was to have any conflict with the Leeds meeting
No need to defend yourself Tom. You suggested it just as I was thinking about it.If the regulars think back, we managed to run the WY pub meet quite happily through two winters with a regular attendance of 10-12 people all through Nov to March.
It all went off a bit, for me anyway, last year when we were getting a car park full of people who were not a regular part of PH and had no real desire to be, and then it also turned into a bit of a tunnel run meet as opposed to a pub meet.
Just my view and I may well be in the minority but I certainly don't see all the regulars from WY rushing over to EY, a small handful maybe, but certainly not enough to be the cause of any demise.

... and the East Yorks meet is very much to the east of East Yorks, so even though I'm out to the east of Leeds the East Yorks meet is a bit too far for me!
Somewhere on the border of the two would be a good place, it's just if the numbers/distances warrant one joined one rather than two seperate ones.
Not really. The EY pub meet is about 15 mins from the western border and about an hour from when you fall into the sea at the eastern border.Somewhere on the border of the two would be a good place, it's just if the numbers/distances warrant one joined one rather than two seperate ones.
We use the venue because it is really nice. A nice big car park, a nice pub, seating outside for the summer months and a nice village location just off the A63 (it's also very handy for Simon.B )
My opinion is that the Railway is ideally placed for a WY meet.

If you know an interesting diversion to the M181-M180-M62-A1 then I'd love to know as our lass lives in Shorpe and its an exceedingly dull drive back at 15million RPM tramlining all over the shop on the stty concrete motorway back to leeds in my car!
Might add about 10 mins onto the journey but the A161 that goes from the A18 down near the end of the M180 (M18 end) north into the back of Goole through Swinefleet is an outstanding road I believe it featured once on the Dawn Raid you paxed on, in the snow?

What about The Chequers Inn in Ledsham? It's just off the A1M so handy for most and I'm sure I heard that the Landlord is a bit of a petrolhead? Definately less exposed and has a decent sized car park!
That is where the Ferrari Owners Club have their monthly meet. Nice pub with a very nice garden area.Gassing Station | Yorkshire | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
