I found out today that there was a mention of it in yesterday's Sun with a short story and some photos. I wish I had known I would have got a copy.

Hi guys, just a heads up that this day will be continued for hopefully 7th sept once venue is confirmed.
Unfortunately the title 'Connor's day will not be due to family request (mother) don't ask!

It will be based of a similar charity event for terminally ill children like Connor and we may invite some along to make it their turn to enjoy and admire all the cars as I'm sure a lot of young kids love cars like us.

We got a good turn out and I hope it will be the same this year all in the name of charity as a car community getting together as one. We got good media reports that a car community can do this sort of thing instead of racing etc like they expect us to.

We will update the finer details once venue is confirmed and a new title for the events and just change the charity every year and a chance for us car guys/girls to mix together and admire and chat with each other.
We shall pass the info onto forums like we did last year.

I hope you can attend.

Regards corky.

Glad to hear it Corky, a bloody good cause. Count me in to give some little 'uns drives in the fire spitting rally Porsche.

James said he will help out too Corky. Im concerned that we dont have a venue though - whats caused the aerodrome to fall through?

No probs guys.

Simon- the guy that was sorting this event out didn't talk into detail apparently, and when I rang that venue he said it would only be suitable for 200-300 cars as it would still be open for business and he would just shove us into one corner.
We need at the very least 1k capacity with potential of double that!

Might be worth talking to Max at Sporting Bears too, see if he could offer up any Dream Rides for the event, or offer any advice on how to set up a similar offering at the event.

PM me if you need any more info and I'll put you in touch with him.

Top of the list has to be a venue. We dont want o be stuck in an old factory car park again...

Football, rugby, cricket stadium carpark?

What about an airfield?

MOD land? Sure they'd be receptive to it.

Anything that you can suggest Ben? Id like to have a good look at your 944 if youre going / going in it.

That said - I didnt stop until about 6pm last time - by the time I could look around most of the interesting stuff had gone.

I can have an ask around for MOD land, no contacts for the other ideas.

Yes, the 944 will be there in full rally glory, you're very welcome to take it for a blast if you can tolerate the noise, heat and seats wink

You might have seen my red Turbo last year, if you were there. The marshalls sign said GC8, not 944 man, as thats my ScoobyNet user name and the car was parked alongside a friends blue S2 up by the top entrance.

Im used to the noise as my own series one car had PC windows all round and whilst I do occasionally struggle with shell seats - if you can fit in then... hehe
