Anyone up for a run over to the Yorkdragway Sunday 2nd May?http://www.yorkraceway.org.uk/index.html

The next event is actually on 2nd & 3rd May, but 2nd sounds best as they have a RWYB event so those that want can have a drag? Not sure if anyone has been? I have been a couple of times and its a cracking day out.

York Raceway Sunday - 2nd MAY

0-60 Challenge Round 1*
Modders/Tuners Shootout Round 2
HR Challenge Qualifying for Round 1
Northern Drag Racing Championship Pro-ET and Sportsman
ET bracket series Qualifying for Round 1
Air-Cooled Eliminators Qualifying for Round 2
Run What You've Brung
Roger Goring's Firestorm Jet Funny Car

Names below if you are interetsed?

It is a cracking day out with lots of noise and smells and some very quick motors too. But are you sure that Firestorm is going to be running Simon? I thought it crashed at the last meet (could be me talking bks too).

I'm keen as a provisional on this one, just need to check for any clashes in the diary, it's been a while since I've been over there to watch.

Not sure Neil...but that's what it says on web site. But as you say its a cracking day out, and should be a good run over there also.

I can varify that Firestorm will NOT be running due to a huge crash at Santa Pod over Easter.

And if anyone fancies giving me a lift, then I'm in to do the photos biggrin

Looking forward to seeing you run (again)!

Hope to have a good sized crowd coming up...prob meet somewhere local'ish and drive up in convoy.

What time do you reckon your first run will be approx?

Cheers. BB.

Hi Simon.smile

Was half asleep last time (don't normally do early Sunday MORNINGS hehe), so maybe around 11am.

I've got a 390SE now instead of the 400, so hopefully be in the low 14s.
Seems to be a quicker gear change on this one.

I think another TVR day is being organised sometime, which would be fun. driving

Timing sounds good then Graham. Would be good to watch you run again...may even have a bash myself this time!

Trickie mentioned the TVR day....think its later in the year though?

Cheers. BB.

I'm trying to muster up a couple of dozen E30s. I'll be there anyway.

Here's the firestorm crash on youtube. No one was injured but a lot of machinery and engine will need a repair and/or replace.

The sad thing is that it was the first time all weekend that he managed to get the engine running properly. Prior to this, the jet would kick in for a split second then shut down completely frown

All you do is drive fast(ish) in a straight line for 1/4mile don't you?? So I assume as long as your engine is warmed up then you cant do that much damage??

Not being to one of these before so I better ask questions now!

S'ppose you could fry your clutch with repeated abuse trying for that perfect start.
