Big wodge of tarmac in Yorkshire
Discussion
Anybody know of any that could be hired cheaply? We effectively need to test a recently rebuilt race car. No high speed stuff (it's got no bodywork on it at the moment for a start), just need to test engine, brakes, suspension, electrics and exhaust systems before the car gets completely reassembled.
A track day wouldn't really work given the state the car is in at the moment...

There's an old air strip near Helmsley that the Scooby lot use. I found it using google earth. It's used for farm storage, bails of hay and the like. The Scooby boys don't ask or pay for it, they just turn up and play for a while and then bugger off before they get into trouble.
I'm not advocating anything illegal here, just offering a suggestion

The whole buggering off sharpish might be difficult if we have the car in bits at the time...I'm not advocating anything illegal here, just offering a suggestion
Blyton is just 15 mins from the M180/A15 junction just east of S
horpe and testing on the tarmac circuit starts from just £45 plus VAT.

You mean Rufforth Airfield?
Good point. I probably meant Acaster Malbis didn't I???? Askham Bryan's the farming college. My garden aint up for rent!

You used to be able to drive straight on to Acaster Malbis and not get bothered by anyone but that was a long time ago.
Rufforth was split into wedges and some of these were cut up so there's no continuous circuit there anymore. Big shame that one.
