Harewood Hillclimb this weekend
Discussion
Just a quick heads up and weather looking to improve so hopefully nice for the weekend. Sat 6th is classic and vintage with loads of nice old stuff racing, Sunday 7th is the Jim Thompson trophy meet with a packed entry featuring all manner of hatches, cater fields, coupes, single seaters etc.

And if the VSCC theme appeals (and it should- few things sound better than a Bugatti or an ERA)Cadwell is the place to be on Sunday. Always fun watching a 20 litre aero engined Bentley negotiate the Mountain. Despite the age and value of the cars most VSCC members cane the arse of their cars .Great stuff.

Ah well, 6 pages on some roundabout or other and practically zero interest in motor sport it seems . And there was me thinking that if you liked cars you also liked watching fast and noisy ones compete. Not so it seems.
Steady on there! You need to chill a bit. Plenty of us have been to Harewood, some on here even compete. I've been to several events and have even done the training day but it doesn't mean I feel the need to attend or discuss every single event. It's possible to enjoy Motorsport without constantly posting about it you know :-)

I competed there sunday, unusually good weather for Harewood albeit bloody windy at times.
a bit challenging after a singles seater emptied its dry sump tank from the startline to Chippys (where it ran out of oil..) in 1st practice, so the good old boys and girls in orange put down more cement dust than a builders merchants floor, but we got through it.
feel sorry for the old boy who arrived it 2nd to last bend at ludicrous speed and went off and took the side out of his lovely 60s Aston, certainly wouldn't T Cut out!
good days clubbie motorsport :-)

I went up to Harewood in the Caterham to spectate last Sunday (they could do with cutting the grass in the main car park!)
Good selection of cars competing from Scimitars (that GTE sounds good), Astons & TVRs and the usual range of mod prod cars and single seaters. Turned into a nice day once the wind dropped. Plenty of action, a few too many red flags - how many times did the marshals replace the bollard markers at the Esses!! - and a couple of bent cars and fence posts.
Have some photos on my phone that I'll add...

In what benjj, the 944? May pop along again that weekend if I'm free.
Yep. Really excited about starting a new discipline. The endurance racing is formidably expensive and only a few big events a year. Want something routine to keep me pin sharp. Will be in Cat 1F on List B tyres. Hope to not make a cretin of myself
