NICE!

Absolutely love these and would love one for myself one day... Never seen one of these in the flesh though.

Good evening all,

Finally got my Elise moved up to Scotland so hopefully see you out and about on some future runs. Based in Aberdeen and have no idea where the best roads are around here. Was left in the garage too much last year so need some excuses to use it!

And have one of these fitted to make life a bit more interesting.

This is an old thread but it seems to outline one or two of the good roads I know of. Have fun!

Hi James,

Yeah its been a while since i've had something fun to drive. I'll gladly take you for a spin some time. Family are doing great, the wee one is in constant menace mode so keeps me on my toes. Carly also fine although I got the impression I was nearly out on my arse when I showed up in the Ultima haha She's getting over it now though.

You should also make your way to http://www.scottishelises.com. Plenty of owners in and around Aberdeen.

Ross,

I think the usual response from a spouse (of the female variety), particularly when faced with hubby arriving home in a 6.3ltr v8 lunatic car that she knows absolutely nothing about the purchase of, is to show some displeasure. I can imagine that this displeasure was shown in a frowns per pound spent.... wink
Don't worry, you'll get to sleep in your own bed again sometime in 2015. The garage won't seem that cold by June. biggrin

Haha the thing is, i told her about two weeks before I picked it up that I had bought it and (as it was from Birmingham) had to wait till i had time to go get it. She said "Are you bloody kidding" to which I simply said "no". She never mentioned it again so i thought she was cool with it then when i told her i book flights, she flipped shoot Anyway, yeah there was plenty frowning and kicks in her "sleep" but seems to have built a bridge and got over it now. haha If id bought her a horse for the same money i bet it would be a different story rolleyes

Ian the conversions seem to becoming more popular. Cant really remember what the K-Series was like to drive!

I'd imagine in comparison to the Honda it'd feel slow! hehe
I know there are/ has been 5 or so Honda Elises kicking around the Aberdeen area so they are fairly popular! I guess nearly double the standard power would be fast enough, and if not you can strap the supercharger on as well!
Much as I'd like the Honda though, I'm still happy enough with the K series.
(Until I afford the conversion!)

You can get over 200bhp out the K Series though and its a great engine if looked after, so not all bad smile

The Caterham R500 was putting out something like 220-240 hp, think they lasted about 10-15 k between refresh, which isn't overly expensive, about 1500 bucks or something. I'm sure if you didn't scream the tits off it all the time it would last longer smile

The worms are out now! I like the rover for what it is, and happy enough with it, and will possibly be looking at cams at some point. If I was looking for 200+bhp though the Honda seems the better, safer option (imo!)
