I was driving from Glencoe down to Edinburgh yesterday and must have just missed the accident that shut the road down all afternoon. There must have been over 20 separate emergency services drove past me heading that way.

The thing is that I noticed 50-100 great cars doing a rally heading North and I cant help but think it was one of those cars that was involved?

I heard that the road was shut from around 11am until around 7pm.
That can't be good.

We were heading back to Aberdeen from Glencoe in the afternoon when we came across the road closed a Crianlarich. Luckily the guy redirecting traffic gave us directions to Killin on a single track road. It went through a couple of farms and we had to open a shut a couple of gates.

We could see the accident from the other side of the river. Couldn't make out too much but looked like a campervan may have been involved.

As expected its the worst of news. I saw these cars travelling north at Glen Ogle which could only have been a mile from the accident site.

A real shame, RIP.

This was my best friend. Died on impact. I've been crying all day. Rennie's been my support since we were about 14. The news article is misleading but he was in the wrong for sure.

Really gonna miss him and I've been at his parents all afternoon, he was an only child.

Sorry to hear that. Not a lot else that can be said at times like these but my thoughts go out too you and his family.

My commiserations to all. The A84/85 is a very dangerous road.

Really sorry Rod. Can't think what else to say.

Our thoughts are with you and the lad's family and other friends.

Take care and try to stay strong.

Cheers,

Eric

Sorry for the loss of your friend, such a tragic shame. Far, far too young to die.

Was away to link that article too but I see Rod has beaten me to it.

I also knew Will, As Rod said he will have been at fault but surely no-one deserves to pay that price, just days before his 20th as well.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

At this time of year that road can be very congested and after driving it last week, some silly stuff happens a lot.

So sorry to hear this guys, my thought are with all involved. frown As a father of a 19 year old, who is out driving a fast car, it scares me to death to think about such a young man involved in such an accident. Please take care.

That is terrible news, I am really sorry to hear that. A horrible thing to happen at any age, but especially hard hitting when it is someone the same age as me.

My thoughts are with his family frown
