Got an email through work about the Clannonball Run 2009.

Its from AECC to Balmoral Castle on 1st November 2009.

Has anyone heard of this, or attending it??

That was quick!

I'm part of the team that's organising it. There are a few people from here taking part.

We've had some problems getting the eBay auction setup because of the charity status but they should be online sometime on Monday.

Just let me know if you've got any questions.

Gary (praying for a dry day).

I'm attendingsmile hope it's a dry day as it would be a shame not to get the roof down on the spider.

I just got an email about this too - looks great!

If i wasn't successful in the bidding, would it be ok to fire up to balmoral in my own motor and have a snoop about the cars up there and chat to the owners etc?

Has this been run before?

It'll just be the cars taking part that are allowed into Balmoral I'm afraid. They'll all be at the AECC from 10-12 to have a look around there. There might even be some others on display at the AECC that aren't taking part.

This is the first time it's been done. It's all part of The UPprentice (www.theupprentice.com) and we've only really had 4 weeks to organise it.

Exactly what I was thinking about not winning the bidding, dont think an X5 qualifies as a sports/supercar lol....

Same as the Bora tongue out

I think i will head down to the AECC in the morning, sounds like a hell of a line up! And then a nice drive out to Balmoral, windows down getting overtaken by all sorts of exotica...

Hi Gary,

I know it's not in the same ball-park, money wise, as some of the other cars you may have taking part, but it is perfomance wise - is the VXR8 ok to consider for this - if it is I may be able to give a different dimension to your passenger drives on the day - by actually offering winning bidders the chance to drive the car !

Hi Gary,

The entry forms will be emailed later. As discussed earlier and due to the nature of this charity, I would have loved to have offered one of the VXR8s for passenger rides and the other for actual driving as well as a couple of cars for the under-age driving at the Exhibition Centre, but due to the short notice my drivers are fully booked and I can't draw them off the bookings they have due to test commitments.

I can however offer the white VXR8 pictured, for the passenger rides 10am to 12pm and then for driving experiences for two participants for the actual run itself with driving time shared to and from the venues.

Most of the auctions are online now and they should all be on tomorrow. Get bidding!

This is going to be an awesome run to be part of. Not only will you get to be the passenger in an amazing car but you'll also see some more on the the road. Entry to Balmoral Castle will only be for the cars taking part.

For something different, you'll have the chance to drive the Vauxhall VXR8 on the run - even if you're 17! - thanks to Brian at www.onboardtraining.co.uk.

We've also added the chance to be the passenger in a Ferrari 360 Spider for a donation of £1. Anyone that makes a donation of £1 or more to our JustGiving page will be in with a shout. We'll pick a name at random from everyone that donates. I'm sure everyone can stretch to £1.

Please pass this on to friends, family and work colleagues and encourage as many people to help out the charity as possible. As well as seeing the cars on the day some of them have offered to take people out for short 10 miles runs for a donation on the day.

Just give me a shout if you have any questions,
Gary.

The auctions are up and running, although not that easy to find if you just go on to ebay.

I would love to go to this and would happily bid away, if i can make it. I know the wife would like this also. I'm ment to be working but might not bother. If you are still looking for some cars, got a nice imola yellow S4 avant with 300bhp, 155mph+

I think eBay just took at little time to update. You'll find them all here - Clannonball eBay Auctions. We'll be adding more today.

Website and all the auctions etc seem very professional and all in a good cause - well done sir!

I'm busy Saturday most of the day but will hopefully be home to see the cars go past my back garden fence in Aboyne - I'll be looking out for you all going through!
